Competitions

  
For over 35 years Drill Team Hawaii and the First Priority, Drill Team of St. Andrews Priory have competed at National Competitions and have placed 1st in the majority of competitions attended. The teams have placed in the top 5 of all competitions attended. Some competitions have been extremely difficult and have included many of the best teams in the nation. In over 35 years of existence the team has traveled for competitions as far as Japan, Australia, New York, Florida, Texas, Arizona, Utah, and California.

Our Most challenging competitions have been:

We have had soloists placed 1st in the Nation at the most difficult
competitions in the USA. SASHA DEE DAYOAN has competed almost every year and has been fortunate enough to place 1st in all her competitions.

After 35 years of performing and competing we find that "Winning is in the Moment" and is quickly forgotten by others. It is something that is really only important to those who are in the event. The moment may remain in their hearts forever but the glory fades quickly and we are left with what really matters:

  • Did we get better?
  • Did we become stronger individuals?
  • Did we leave an impression on others that will help them remember us, not because we won, but because we touched their hearts?

Our trophies are given away or left outside our practice doors, because they are behind us. What we focus on is what is ahead of us.
