FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE--December 5, 2001
Drill Team Hawaii proudly
announces its annual Christmas Dance Spectacular on Saturday, December
15, 2001 from 6:00-6:30 P.M. on the center stage at Ala Moana Center.
The free concert will debut nine holiday dances set to classic Christmas
favorites as well as two modern hits. Director Penny Young and her
daughter, co-director and lead choreographer Febray Kaopua, have put
together an entertaining lineup that will entertain and delight
audiences of all ages, with dances incorporating a trademark mix of jazz
dance, ballet, hip-hop and gymnastics.
"Our Christmas Spectacular is always one of the highlights of our
year," commented Young. "Because the show often draws a
large audience, many of whom return annually, we are very committed to
putting on a first-rate production. We begin rehearsing months in
advance and create unique and elaborate costumes."
There will also be a repeat performance with an expanded program on
Sunday, December 16, 2001 from 4:00-5:00 P.M. at the St. Andrew's Priory
School gymnasium. This is also free to the public.
Drill Team Hawaii is an award-winning precision dance team that has been
