by Annette Sierra Local dance group Drill Team Hawaii (DTH) recently
captured 12 first place dance awards in two separate national
competitions. This past Saturday (March 8), DTH which comprises
girls ranging from ages five to 18, competed in the United Spirit

first place national championships. “We were so honored and fortunate to be able to
compete especially in the Florida event, a premier dance competition which attracts
some of the strongest teams in the nation,” commented DTH director
Penny Young. “It was an
incredible experience, and to be able to place amongst this caliber of
dancers is a testament to the talent we have in Hawaii.” DTH
