Ranging from pre-school to college age, the girls of Drill Team Hawaii will be performing an eclectic lineup of 37 new dance routines featuring jazz, hip-hop, ballet and gymnastics. Even the “Dancing Dads” will get into the act with a lighthearted performance—always a crowd pleaser. This is the perfect family show to experience the fun, excitement and award-winning choreography that is the trademark of Drill Team Hawaii. General admission tickets are $17 and are available Tuesday-Saturday, 9 AM to 5 PM at the Hawaii Theatre Center Box Office, 1130 Bethel Street or by phone during these hours at 528-0506. The ticket price reflects a $2 fee to further the ongoing Hawaii Theatre Center restoration project. Drill Team Hawaii Information Drill Team Hawaii is a performance dance team that blends award-winning choreography, precision dance techniques, and gymnastics skills for an exciting and entertaining experience. Founded in 1973, Drill Team Hawaii is presently comprised of 92 girls from various schools around Oahu. Drill Team Hawaii performs regularly at local sporting and variety events including UH football games. Earlier this year, Drill Team Hawaii entered two national dance competitions on the mainland and was honored to receive 12 national titles. Going beyond just performances and competitions, Drill Team Hawaii emphasizes self-esteem, confidence, responsibility, and leadership. More importantly, Drill Team Hawaii teaches the girls to have fun and to strive to do their best. Chrissy Naruo Information Chrissy Naruo is a senior at Roosevelt High School. She has performed in many plays around town and is presently preparing for the lead role in Lisa Matsumoto’s “On Dragonfly Wings.” |
